Omnitrix

The initial idea behind this work was a bit more ambitious than the resources at my disposal would permit. While putting in the finishing touches, I was displeased with it because it was not what I envisioned at the start, and I almost threw it away. I had uploaded a process video and someone told me how beautiful it looked. That comment allowed me to look beyond my disappointment and to create beauty from what was in front of me. It also reminded me of what my art stands for. Challenge. Life and art are both messy and usually very unpredictable, what is important is how it is dealt with moving forward. The title, comes from the watch-like device used in the classic children’s cartoon, Ben 10. When I finished my piece, it instantly reminded me of that, and I was hit with a wave of nostalgia.
